Post-Graduation FOMO

on a social media website.
Graduation is such an amazing accomplishment and it signifies the closing of one chapter of your life. But what no one tells you is that the story continues even after you get your happily ever after.
A summer has passed since I have walked across the graduation stage, and now the university campus is bustling once again with the start of the Fall semester.
The excitement of thinking "this is going to be my year," getting new school supplies, and seeing everyone after vacation is now a thing of the past.
One thing that I struggle with that some people may not,
is that everyone stayed except for me!
My friends who have graduated with me have either gone on to graduate school at our university, found jobs in the area, or stayed an extra semester. Then there is all of my underclassmen friends who still have yet to complete their degree.
So that leaves me all alone on my rock in the middle of the ocean.
(its Hawaii if you didn't catch my drift)
Yeah, I have been feeling lonely and it sucks missing out of all the fun things that they are doing, but I have.... entered the work force and will be doing this for the rest of my life.
Question of the day: If you had the chance to go back, would you?
It's no fun watching all of my friends go out, grab lunch, be spontaneous, and in general be together. There was a running joke among my friends that they needed QAT: Quality Ashley Time. I love spending time with the people I care about and now that piece of me is missing being away from them.
I don't really know what to do about it
(other than plan a trip to Arizona hey hey!)
But it is a part of life and learning to let go of the things that
once were. Moving forward and growing is the next step for me
in my life. But, never forgetting, and always remembering...
